Separate the repeatable from the perceptual

File discovery, duration checks, timecode arithmetic, naming, and export validation belong to deterministic code. They should produce the same answer every time.

Story rhythm, visual balance, emotional weight, and whether a moment feels finished require judgment. Agents can help there, provided the work remains observable and reviewable.

A handoff is a designed surface

The boundary between the two is where quality is usually lost. We make that boundary explicit: scripts produce evidence, agents interpret it, and a gate decides whether the work moves forward.

The goal is not to automate taste. It is to give taste better material and fewer mechanical distractions.

What this changes

A failed export points to a measurable stage. A weak creative choice remains open to discussion. The system gets faster without pretending that every decision is the same kind of decision.
